He received his medical degree from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and begun his training in general surgery at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden. Dr. Gkotsikas completed his specialist training in plastic surgery at the Plastic Surgery Department of the University of Thessaloniki and at the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Department of the University Hospital “Karolinska” in Stockholm."
